No. Kava instant coffee does not contain any extracts from the kava herb or kava kava root (Piper Methysticum).
The acid in Kava instant coffee is not removed but neutralized with potassium, much like adding an antacid tablet to each cup. If you need to watch potassium in your diet, please refer to your family physician for additional information.
In addition, Kava coffee uses specially chosen coffee beans that are delicately roasted in order to reduce certain natural irritants associated with stomach discomfort, while at the same time preserving the natural flavors and aromas of our premium coffee.

Kava instant coffee is currently available in a 4-ounce jar. We will be coming out with a larger 8 ounce jar in the future.
Kava has a 18-month shelf life. All Kava coffee products include a “BEST BY” date located on the bottom of the jar. To ensure that you have the freshest coffee experience possible, we do not recommend using Kava coffee after the Best By date has passed, as we cannot guarantee the same taste, quality, and performance. In order to help preserve the best flavor, we recommend storing your Kava coffee in a cool, dry place with a tightly closed lid.
